Zachery Ty Bryan
Brad on Home Improvement

Zachery (cq) Ty Bryan plays Brad, the oldest son, on "Home Improvement." He started his career appearing in commercials and print ads in his hometown of Denver, his first national commercial hitting the TV screens when he was five. He continued his career in New York, flying in from Colorado whenever he was needed.

His interest in acting brought him to California, where he landed "Home Improvement," his first television series.

While maintaining a full work, school and athletic practice schedule, 15-year-old Zach has continued to broaden his horizons as an actor. In 1996, he co-starred with Sinbad in "First Kid," a Walt Disney Pictures film. He recently completed the Orion film, "True Heart," which also stars Kirsten Dunst; and he filmed a featured role in "Principal Takes a Holiday" for "The Wonderful World of Disney." Zach has guest-starred on several television programs, including "Picket Fences," "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and "Sea World/Busch Gardens Party for the Planet."

Other recent activities include being a featured celebrity guest at the Hollywood for Children Family Film Festival; serving as Grand Marshal for the Disney-MGM Studios Father's Day Parade and Celebration; being a presenter at the Hollywood Reporter's YoungStar Awards; and playing in the Wayne Dalton/Richard Karn Celebrity Golf Classic in Seattle.

Zach's other passion in life is soccer; he devotes many hours a week to perfecting his skills and playing competitively for his local soccer club, the Claremont Stars. His exceptional athleticism has earned him spots in national and international tournaments, as well as a place on the California South Olympic Development Team. In 1996, the Stars were invited to the Dallas Cup, America's most prestigious amateur and international soccer tournament, where they took second place to Bolivia. That same year, the Stars won the Far West Regional Championship as well. In addition to playing the game, Zach has hosted an instructional video, "Let's Play Soccer," produced by ESPN.

Even though he has a busy schedule, he finds time for what's very important to him: His fans and his charity work. He has made numerous appearances across the U.S. and Canada in order to reach his fans. His charity work involves organizations such as the Emily Anderson Center, the D.A.R.E. program and the Starlight Foundation for terminally ill children.

Zachery, who lives in Los Angeles, enjoys spending time with his family and going hiking, biking and snow skiing in Colorado during their holidays.
