As a very young child, Darlene Hunt performed in children's beauty pageants and talent shows, wearing makeup and twirling batons. Many performances ended with a trophy, others ended in tears. At seven, she moved to a farm where cows and beagles were her constant companions. She had a desire but little opportunity to be on the stage -- until she was invited to attend the prestigious Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program, where she studied drama and confirmed that acting was her passion and career goal. Hunt continued her training by studying theatre at Northwestern University outside of Chicago, and at the Royal National Theatre in London and the British American Drama Academy in Oxford.

While in college, Hunt co-wrote a play aimed at high school students entitled "No Problem" and which she toured the country. It was later published and is currently available from Dramatic Publishing. After college she worked in various Chicago theatres, including the prestigious Lookingglass Theatre Company, the Apple Tree Theatre and Roadworks Theatre Company, where she won critical acclaim for her role in "Orestes: A Rock Musical," directed by Abby Epstein, and for which she was nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award.

At the encouragement of a friend, Hunt began doing standup comedy, touring clubs across the country and being featured at the Chicago Comedy Festival and the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. She has performed as a member of the world famous Groundlings Theatre in Los Angeles and has studied with Second City in Chicago.

Hunt starred with Sean Hayes in "Platonically Incorrect," a play which she also wrote, that ran in Los Angeles and New York and was later developed into a network pilot. She has written six pilots for various networks, including ABC, NBC and The WB. Other writing credits include an episode of "Will & Grace," in which she also guest starred.

On the big screen she played opposite Jude Law and Lily Tomlin in David O. Russell's film, "I Heart Huckabees." Other film credits include "3001," directed and written by Mike Judge, and "The Darwin Awards," starring Winona Ryder.

For fun Hunt has been taking flying trapeze lessons in Los Angeles for over a year.
