Grace Under Fire: Brett Butler and Dave Thomas

Grace is truly the modern American heroine. Several years have passed since her troubled marriage ended in divorce, and she has bettered herself, even managing to land a promotion at the oil company where she works. She remains the sole support of her three children: Quentin, Libby, and baby Patrick, ages 10, 8, and 4, respectively.

It takes all of Grace's indomitable will to keep her spirits high while maintaining her status as a single parent. She'd be the first to tell you that she isn't exactly living one of the "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous," and that things are still not as easy or comfortable as they should be. But with her quick wit, the support of her buddy, Russell, and that of best friends Nadine and Wade, Grace gets over the day-to- day rough spots pretty much at peace with herself and the kids.

It isn't ever easy being both mom and dad to the two older children; they still miss their father. But Grace does everything she can to keep a positive image of him alive in their hearts. So, after surviving eight years of domestic "non-bliss," Grace is content now. Life has given the lady a certain edge, but she remains lovable and open -- and blessed with a fervent desire to shape her own destiny from this point forward.

Brett Butler stars as Grace Kelly, Dave Thomas as Russell Norton, Julie White as Nadine Swoboda, Casey Sander as Wade Swoboda, Kaitlin Cullum as Libby Kelly, and Dylan Sprouse as baby Patrick Kelly. The series also features Paul Dooley as John Shirley, Dave Florek as Vic, Walter Olkewicz as Dougie and Tom Poston as Floyd Norton.

"Grace Under Fire" is a Carsey-Werner Production, created by Chuck Lorre. The executive producers are Marcy Carsey, Tom Werner, Tim Doyle and Brett Butler. The co-executive producers are David Nichols, J.J. Wall and Sid Youngers. The supervising producers are Holly Hester and Bob Smith. The series premiered September 29, 1993.
