Tony Perkins
Good Morning America Weather Forecaster


Tony Perkins is the weather forecaster for Good Morning America. Perkins' national weather forecasts air every half-hour on the ABC News program. In addition, Perkins frequently travels throughout the United States for GMA, showcasing special events and interviewing community leaders as part of his weather updates.

Perkins joined ABC News from WTTG-TV in Washington, D.C. (a Fox owned and operated station) with more than 15 years of experience in radio and television broadcasting. He has been co-anchor of the Fox Morning News since 1997. In this role, he co-anchored the morning news broadcast and conducted interviews, did feature segments and reviewed films. He served as the weather personality for Fox Morning News before becoming co-anchor of the program. As the weather personality, his unique presentation made him the one of the most popular weathermen in the nation's capital.

Perkins is also an accomplished radio personality. From 1992 to 1993, he co-hosted The Morning Crew, a premier morning drive radio show on WKYS-FM in Washington, D.C. Previously, Perkins wrote, produced and was an on-air contributor to The Donnie Simpson Showa top-rated radio show on WKYS-FM from 1985 to 1992.

While working as an on-air personality for WKYS-FM, Perkins also appeared as a live comedic performer, writing and delivering original material for Comic Strip Live, at WTTG-TV in 1989 and various theaters, clubs and colleges around the country. Before joining WTTG-TV, Mr. Perkins hosted and produced DC 20 Breakaway, for WDCA-TV in Washington, D.C., from 1986 to 1988, where his efforts earned him a 1988 Emmy Award.

He began his career at ABC News, serving as a desk assistant in the network's Washington bureau.

Perkins, a native New Yorker, has lived in Washington since the age of five. He holds a bachelor of arts in communications from American University.
