A master craftsman and cabinet maker, Hazelton has become an authority in the home improvement field, giving lectures, demonstrations and workshops. He reports for Good Morning America on home improvement topics ranging from tiling a bathroom to beautifying an outdoor landscape.

Hazelton also hosts and co-produces the home improvement television series The House Doctor, which airs on the Home and Garden Television Network. In addition, he appears on Lifetime's Our Home and is the home improvement expert for Popular Mechanics on the Discovery Channel.

He has also appeared on the former Phil Donahue Show, has been quoted as a home improvement expert in The Wall Street Journal and has contributed to Family Circl magazine. He reports on topical matters related to the home for KGO-TV's Channel 7 News and contributes articles to the San Francisco Examiner and Good Morning America Extra. He has been a radio talk show guest on KGO's Home Show, the nationally syndicated On the House and WXYT's Ask the Handyman.
