Constance Marie plays stand-up comic George Lopez's wife, Angie, on "George Lopez."

She simultaneously plays the lead role of Nina in the critically acclaimed one-hour PBS drama, "American Family," starring alongside Edward James Olmos, Sonia Braga, Esai Morales and Raquel Welch.

Most recently, Marie starred as Yolanda in the highly celebrated Samuel Goldwyn film, "Tortilla Soup," which opened in August, 2001. She played the daughter of Raquel Welch, who coincidentally stars as her aunt in American Family.

Marie's thriving career on both the small and big screens began when, as a teenager in Los Angeles' underground break- dancing scene, she was selected out of a group of 500 hopefuls to dance in David Bowie's Glass Spider tour.

Upon returning to Los Angeles, Marie was cast as a dancer in the movie "Salsa." The film's choreographer introduced her to Steve Tisch, who gave Marie her first acting job as a series regular on CBS's "Dirty Dancing."

Marie began working in feature films in 1995, starring as Toni Sanchez in the critically recognized "My Family / Mi Familia," directed by Gregory Nava. She went on to win praise for her portrayal of Tejano music legend Selena Quintanilla's mother, Marcella Quintanilla, in the blockbuster film "Selena." Her other film roles include "See Spot Run" and the 2000 Sundance film "Dancing in September."

Marie's additional television credits include "Spin City," "Union Square," "Early Edition" "Two Guys and a Girl," "For Your Love" and "Ally McBeal."
