Xzibit
Designer on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Xzibit Xzibit (Alvin Joiner) is a multiplatinum recording artist, actor and television personality, born in Detroit, Michigan, where he began rapping at a young age.

In 1992 Xzibit moved to Los Angeles, California to begin his music career, and became a major contributor to underground hip hop on the West coast through his affiliation with the Likwit Crew. He went on to build a solid career with projects alongside such big names as Eminem and Snoop Dogg. Already well established and critically acclaimed, Xzibit was recruited by famed producer Dr. Dre to join the all-star cast of Dre 2001(1999). He released a new album every two years following his 1996 debut album, "At the Speed of Life," until "Full Circle," which was released in October 2006.

Xzibit's mainstream breakthrough came when he hosted "Pimp My Ride" on MTV, consistently one of the highest rated shows on cable for its six seasons. Its popularity helped Xzibit move to the big screen, where he can be seen in such films as "8 Mile" (2002), "Derailed" (2005) and "XXX: State of the Union" (2005). He had costarring roles alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in "Gridiron Gang" (2007), David Duchovny in "The X-Files: I want to Believe" (2008), "American Violet" (2008) with Nicholas Cage, and Val Kilmer in "Bad Lieutenant: Port of New Orleans" (2009).

In the fall of 2011, Xzibit will be making his way back to television on the eighth season of ABC's hit series "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." He guest starred on the show the previous season, assisting the design team with a build in Suffield, CT. He'll be joining the team with fellow new teammates Jillian Harris and Leigh Anne Tuohy, visiting America's heartland and connecting with real people who need help.
