Extreme Team Plastic Surgeon on Extreme Makeover

Renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Griffin is considered one of the foremost authorities on plastic surgery for African Americans and ethnic skin types. Though his patients are of every type, he is a crusader to spread the word that minorities who have plastic surgery no longer need to copy traditional beauty ideals. "I want people to know that they can enhance their natural beauty and still retain their ethnic identity," Dr. Griffin says.

He is a pioneer in scar-free surgery for scar-prone minorities -- the author of a book on the subject -- and works hard to promote new safe ethnic surgical techniques to other plastic surgeons. His surgeries have been featured on ABC's "Extreme Makeover," CNN, Time magazine, The Discovery Health Channel, National Geographic, The Learning Channel and elsewhere. As a general expert on all things plastic surgery, Dr, Griffin is a regular on E! Entertainment, and has also been seen on "Access Hollywood."

His signature procedures are the "Brazilian Butt Lift (TM)," the rage with those who want to sculpt their figure like Beyonce and J-Lo; the "Six-Pack Tummy Tuck (TM)," popular with people who want abs instead of flab; and the "No-Tell Nose Job (TM)," nose surgery without a trace. He is author of "Surgery Without Scars: A Worry-Free, Multi-Cultural Guide to Plastic Surgery Today." Though he is getting more attention these days, his real success all stems from a solid practice and years of satisfied patients spreading the word of his skills.

Dr. Griffin is a graduate of Brown University and USC. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has more than 10 years of training and experience in plastic surgery. A board-certified member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, he is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Griffin has published many scientific articles and made numerous presentations throughout the U.S. and abroad. Despite his demanding schedule, he is involved with many community activities and has operated pro bono on needful children with deformities in Africa, Asia and South America. Dr. Griffin was recently asked to go to Iraq with "Operation Smile's" flying hospital to help children with cleft lip deformities.
