Emily Blunt Camane on the epic series Empire
Emily Blunt portrays Camane, a Vestal Virgin of Rome's sacred order who is empowered with psychic abilities.On U.S. television Blunt starred as Isolda, opposite Alex Kingston, in the 2003 action drama "Warrior Queen" (a.k.a. "Boudica" in the U.K.). Her British television credits include portraying Katherine Howard in the 2003 miniseries "Henry VIII," with Ray Winston and Helena Bonham Carter, playing Jean Leckie in the BBC's production of "The Strange Case of Sherlock Holmes," leading roles in "Poirot," opposite David Suchet, and the wartime drama "Foyle's War," with Michael Kitchen. Blunt made her theatrical debut portraying Gwen Cavendish opposite Dame Judi Dench in Sir Peter Hall's highly acclaimed production of "The Royal Family" at Haymarket Theatre in 2001, which won her a coveted nomination for Best Newcomer. She went on to play Eugenie Loyer in the National Theatre's award-winning production of "Vincent in Brixton," directed by Sir Richard Eyre, and Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet" at the prestigious Chichester Festival in 2002. Blunt recently co-starred with Paddy Considine in the dramatic feature film, "My Summer of Love," and is currently in Australia filming "Irresistible" with Susan Sarandon. One of four children born to a teacher mother and barrister father, Blunt resides in her hometown of London. A versatile performer who enjoys music, her talents include singing and playing the cello.
