Emily Sanders on the ABC Television Network's "Emily's Reasons Why Not"
Heather Graham made her starring television series debut in "Emily's Reasons Why Not" on ABC, playing the title character, Emily Sanders, a successful young woman determined to find love after past unlucky attempts.Graham's striking beauty and endearing quality have made her roles like that of Roller Girl in "Boogie Nights" and Felicity Shagwell in "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" into cinematic icons. More recently she has completed production on a number of upcoming independent films, serving as executive producer and star in the romantic comedy, "Cake," opposite Sandra Oh and Taye Diggs; starring opposite Bridget Moynahan, Tom Cavanagh and Sissy Spacek in the comedy, "Gray Matters"; and starring in the drama, "Broken," opposite Jeremy Sisto. Throughout her career, Graham has undertaken the full-spectrum of roles, ranging from the dramatic to the comedic. She first caught the attention of filmmakers in Gus Van Sant's "Drugstore Cowboy," opposite Matt Dillon. She later appeared in "Swingers," starring Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn. Next she starred as an ambitious young actress from Ohio in Frank Oz's "Bowfinger," opposite Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy, followed by her portrayal of the tragic character, Mary Kelly, in Albert and Allen Hughes' "From Hell," opposite Johnny Depp. Soon thereafter, she appeared in Daisy von Scherler Mayer's Bollywood-inspired romantic comedy, "The Guru," opposite Marisa Tomei and Jimi Mistry.
Other film credits include "Hope Springs," opposite Collin Firth; Lisa Krueger's "Committed," with Luke Wilson; Ed Burns' ensemble film, "Sidewalks of New York"; James Toback's "Two Girls and a Guy," with Robert Downey Jr.; "Lost in Space," with Gary Oldman and William Hurt, and "Six Degrees of Separation," starring Will Smith.Graham received rave reviews for her guest-starring stint in the critically acclaimed series, "Scrubs." Also on the small screen, she starred in David Lynch's cult series, "Twin Peaks," and in the Hallmark movie, "O Pioneers!," opposite Jessica Lange. She made her stage debut off-Broadway in Playwrights Horizons' "Recent Tragic Events." Graham currently resides in Los Angeles and New York.
