Craig Ferguson Nigel Wick on The Drew Carey Show
Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Craig Ferguson got his start in the entertainment industry as a musician, playing drums and guitar in rock and roll bands in the United Kingdom.Within a year of starting his stand-up career, Ferguson was invited for the first of his two "Just For Laughs" appearances in Montreal. That performance led to a starring role in a pilot, "High," created by producer Bruce Paltrow; and also starring Gwyneth Paltrow. He appeared in such British television shows as "The Red Dwarf" and "Saturday Live," as well as the BBC television movies, "Bogie Man" and "Dreambaby." He also wrote and performed "The Hitler Diaries," a one-man radio play about the adventures of a fictional character. His stage credits include "Accidental Death of an Anarchist," "The Rocky Horror Show," "The Craig Ferguson Story," "Aladdin" and "The Brick and the Rose." In 1994, he starred in his own BBC-2 comedy series, "The Ferguson Theory," prior to making his career move to the United States. On only his second audition in America, Ferguson landed a regular role in ABC's comedy, "Maybe This Time," in which he co-starred with Marie Osmond and Betty White.
