Lisa Zane Le Sage on Dinotopia
Lisa Zane has made her mark not only on television and in movies, but her eclectic career also has brought her kudos on stage and in the recording studio.Lisa's film work includes "Bad Influence," directed by Academy Award-winner Curtis Hanson, "Femme Fatale," opposite Colin Firth, and the comedy "Floundering," opposite James Le Gros. On television Lisa is best known by viewers from her season on "L.A. Law," followed by her popular stint opposite George Clooney on "ER." Also among her television credits are the critically acclaimed CBS series "Middle Ages," Fox's dark drama "Profit" and the sexy sword and sorcery romp "Roar." Lisa starred in the NBC film "Babe Ruth," and in the Hallmark movie "Missing Pieces," for CBS, opposite Academy Award-winner James Coburn. Upon graduation from Vassar College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in dramatic literature, Lisa was invited to join Pulitzer Prize winner David Mamet's prestigious New Theatre Company in her hometown of Chicago. She starred in the world premiere of Mamet's adaptation of Chekov's "The Cherry Orchard." From there she went on to star in the world premieres of Craig Lucas' "Prelude to a Kiss" at the South Coast Rep, and Lyle Kessler's "Robbers" at the Seattle Rep, as well as in the title role in the Los Angeles production of "Tamara." In addition to acting, Lisa has a passion for singing, which began in early 1998 at Les Deux Cafe in Los Angeles, where she developed her impressive repertoire of European and American folk and torch songs. For the past three years Lisa has been giving concerts of her original music in New York City at Joe's Pub, The Cutting Room, Torch and The Bottom Line. Her recordings have been licensed for use in both feature films and television. Her rendition of Roxy Music's "Love is the Drug" was featured in Fox's "Monkeybone," starring Brendan Fraser; and her original song "Bink E Bink" was written for the independent feature "I Woke Up Early the Day I Died," starring her brother, Billy Zane, and Sandra Bernhardt. Lisa also produced and directed a film adaptation of Racine's "Phaedra," which was selected to show in the Napa Valley film Festival in 1996.
