Submit Your Video Tape

Producers are seeking your funny home video tapes now! For the current running contest, AFV will be giving away a $100,000 grand prize. To enter, send your funny and/or amazing tapes to:

America's Funniest Home Videos
P.O. Box 4333
Hollywood, CA 90078

Instructions:
You may submit either your original tape, or a copy of the funny or unusual clip on a separate tape. Please remember we are not responsible for lost, damaged, or misdirected tapes, so if your tape is very valuable to you, you should send us a copy. You may submit more than one funny clip on a single videocassette. Please include a brief description of the video clip and try to cue the cassette up to the funny part. Make sure you include your name, address, and phone number with the cassette. If you wish to have your tape returned, enclose a check or money order made out to Cara Communications Corporation in the amount of $3.00.

What happens when you receive my tape?
Once the AFV tape library receives your tape, it is assigned a unique identification number. The submitter's information is entered into our database and the tape is passed to the screening department. Once the tape is screened and is considered appropriate for further evaluation, we make a professional dub of the funny or unusual sections of the tape for our library, and release forms are sent out to the submitter. (See official rules for more on evaluation and release forms).
If you sent in a $3.00 check or U.S. money order for return, we will do so. You can expect your tape to be returned within 3 months. If you did not ask for your tape to be returned, it will eventually be destroyed.

What is the status of my tape?
Your release forms and a copy of your clip will remain in our system indefinitely. When we build shows, we are constantly reviewing and reconsidering material that has come to us since day one. Therefore, there is a good chance your clip will find it's way into a show, even if you haven't heard from us in a while.

Will you notify me if you decide to air my clip?
Once a clip has been chosen to appear in a show, we attempt to contact the submitter and notify them of the airdate. We contact the submitter the first time a clip is aired, but not for re-runs or subsequent airings. In order for us to contact you in a timely manner, please keep us up to date with your current address and phone number.

If you need to contact the AFV tape library for any reason, please refer to your tape identification number, written on your release forms, for easy reference.
